From doubts to dreams
I remember sitting at the table with my father, discussing which bachelor’s degree I should pursue. We talked about how important it is to choose something that wouldn’t limit your future career options. So, I decided to pursue a double bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration, thinking I could take the best of both worlds.
The problem with this approach is that you never really know where to focus your energy, and you end up feeling like you’re going everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
I had this idea that by the time I graduated, I would have everything figured out. I thought a clear path would emerge, and I’d know exactly what to do next. But reality hit differently: after graduating, I realised I had more questions than ever before.
I was afraid to commit to just one career path and get stuck in it for years. I couldn’t imagine doing the same thing every day without getting bored.
I had serious imposter syndrome, constantly thinking that maybe everyone else had figured something out that I hadn’t. I felt like there was some secret sauce everyone else knew, except for me.
The fear of choosing a “normal” career path was so high that I decided to pursue my own entrepreneurial projects. While I enjoyed the freedom, I eventually realised that I was ready to revisit my old dream: joining a high-tech startup.
Fun fact: I almost didn’t become a Luminerd
When I applied to Luminovo and met Benedikt, Hannah, Seba, and Max, something clicked.
Maybe work isn’t just about what you do – maybe it’s about who you do it with. That realisation changed everything.
I threw myself into the application process. Luminovo doesn’t have traditional job requirements; whether you can succeed on the job to be done is not determined by your CV matching some sort of standard. But you have to prove yourself during the interview process, which is anything but easy, and includes multiple rounds of interviews, plus a hiring challenge.
My initial application attempt was for the Founder’s Associate role, and, well… I didn’t get it.
During the interview process, Benedikt (Head of Operations) sat down with me and told me: “Danny, your challenge results completely missed the target. There’s a 98% likelihood we’re going to reject you.”
My soul dropped. How could the passionate work I put into the interview process not be seen as great? After collecting my thoughts, I looked at Benedikt and said: “I believe there’s been a misunderstanding around the expectations for the challenge. I don't have any experience for this type of role, but give me the opportunity, and I’ll prove myself. Could you discuss this internally and reconsider the decision?”
And they did. Benedikt, Max (Revenue Operations Lead), and Hannah (Founder’s Associate at the time, moving into the People Lead role) saw something in me and my work. So, a few days later, I received a call from Hannah: They couldn’t offer me the Founder’s Associate role, but considered me to be an amazing fit for their Revenue Operations Team.
Plot twist: I didn’t even know what Revenue Operations was.
But I was determined to get a chance to work with this team and become a “Luminerd” myself. I agreed to give it a shot.
After the next round of tough interviews and challenge projects, I landed the job in Max’s RevOps Team – a decision that turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me.

What RevOps at Luminovo is
My team is the connecting layer between Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Product, leveraging new technologies and constantly pushing for innovation – all with the goal of driving efficiency and enabling growth.
Revenue Operations is the backbone of the entire Revenue department.
In my role, I have the opportunity to:
Work directly with customers and leads to support sales and customer success motions.
Experiment with and implement new AI tools to make collaboration between sales, marketing, and customer success more efficient and effective.
Innovate in sales processes, finding creative ways to scale outbound efforts and push boundaries for even better sales results.
Create and manage email outbound campaigns, writing compelling emails and building lead lists to drive pipeline generation.
Help sales, marketing, and customer success by removing roadblocks and driving key strategic projects forward.
Learn from and work with our Founders on business development, and contribute with ideas to shape long-term strategy across revenue teams.
Build and lead a new GTM Engineering department, focused on automating pipeline generation to support the entire sales team and help them scale.
Manage and optimize the CRM to ensure the sales team has clean, actionable data.
Leverage data to inform decisions, analyse sales performance and customer insights to identify trends and improve ROI across all revenue teams.
Manage and monitor CRM dashboards to ensure relevant stakeholders stay informed and aware of key data and metrics.
Sounds like a lot, right?
In RevOps, every day is different, every project comes from a different department, and there’s always something new to tackle.
Working in RevOps turned out to be an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and have a real impact on business growth.
One huge reason that I thrive in this role are my amazing teammates (also known as RevOps pirates). Max & Iva are ambitious and hilarious – working with them makes me genuinely happy.

When you’re solving complex problems and having fun along the way, that’s when you know you’ve found a job you truly love.
At the end of the day, I found myself in a high-tech AI-driven startup surrounded by young, ambitious people who make work fun every day. Luminovo is where I'm learning every day, while having fun.
Together, we tackle difficult projects that revolutionise industry practices. It’s everything I'd been looking for. And guess what: over time, my imposter syndrome and FOMO disappeared.
