INTUS Elektronik GmbH, based in Göppingen, has fully modernized its quoting process using Luminovo’s Configure-price-quote (CPQ) solution. The goal: significantly shorten turnaround times, improve data consistency, and streamline collaboration across purchasing, production planning, and sales. The result is a faster, more transparent, and more reliable quoting process.

“Before Luminovo, creating a quote took three to four weeks. In today’s market, that’s simply too long. We knew we needed a fundamental change.” says Andreas Zink, Managing Director at INTUS Elektronik

A step change in efficiency through automation

Previously, BOMs were processed manually using external tools, a slow and error-prone approach. Today, Luminovo's AI-powered BOM importer automatically classifies around 80% of components, reducing the time required for a typical BOM from eight hours to just two to four hours. At the same time, supplier API integrations provide real-time pricing and seamless transfer of verified data into the ERP system.

“About 80% of all positions are recognized automatically after upload. That frees us to focus on technical guidance and optimization,” explains Martin Schiedel, Technical Specialist and Production Planner.

Turnaround times for quotes have dropped from two to three weeks to just one to two weeks and smaller projects are often completed the same day. Error rates are down significantly, and the team can now process several RFQs in parallel.

Through direct supplier API connections, INTUS Elektronik now benefits from complete real-time pricing visibility. Clean, verified data flows directly into the ERP system without media breaks, enabling faster and more accurate calculations.

“We see price benchmarks in real time and can negotiate more effectively or request alternatives from our suppliers,” says Andreas List, Head of Purchasing and Logistics.

Compliance and obsolescence built into the process

RoHS and REACH checks, benchmarks, and early warnings for obsolescence risks now run automatically in the background. This allows INTUS Elektronik to proactively inform customers about potential bottlenecks and suggest suitable alternatives before issues arise.

“Our customers value early warnings on obsolescence, especially when we can immediately offer alternatives. It prevents expensive redesigns and strengthens long-term relationships,” notes Thomas Wirth, Inside Sales.

Speed when it matters

With Luminovo, INTUS Elektronik dramatically increased its quoting speed. Many requests are now answered within days; smaller assemblies are sometimes quoted the same day.

“There were moments when we could quote small assemblies on the same day and customers would react with: ‘Wow, that was fast!’” recalls Thomas Wirth.

“If three requests come in on a single day, I can handle them all by the evening and still have time for strategic tasks” adds Martin Schiedel.

The improved transparency and reliability have become a true differentiator.
“For us as a turnkey supplier, speed and predictability matter just as much as quality and price” emphasizes Mario Ungewickel, Key Account Manager.

INTUS Elektronik’s customers benefit directly from the new process: quotes arrive faster and with greater accuracy, risks such as obsolescence become visible much earlier, and digital benchmarking leads to more competitive pricing. The improved transparency also gives customers higher planning reliability and reduces unnecessary back-and-forth.

With Luminovo, INTUS Elektronik has strengthened its position as a digital turnkey partner for complex electronics projects.

“Since implementing Luminovo, we lose significantly fewer projects because we can respond so much faster” summarises Andreas Zink.

Next, INTUS Elektronik plans to expand its digital ecosystem with more supplier APIs, standardized quote templates, and advanced risk visualizations. The goal: a quoting process that is not only faster, but smarter and part of a future-ready service portfolio.
